Kokum is a cure for acidity. It vastly grows in the region of Konkan and Goa. This dried variety of Kokum has culinary uses. When added to food it imparts a pink to purple colour and sweet to sour taste. It can be used as a substitute for Tamarind in curries and other dishes.
